She was part of the group that covered black-owned businesses on Jackson's Farish Street. She narrated her mini-documentary, Supporting Black Dollars and Businesses in Jackson, Miss., and also sang background vocals in the "Wade in the Water" track during the Woolworth's Sit-In mini-documentary.

YMP student Maleah Briggs, right, is a junior at Mississippi School for the Arts. During YMP, she focused on re-entry for former prisoners with an emphasis on those wrongfully convicted. She can count on her fingers and toes all of the future careers she’s interested in, such as engineering, politics, or entertainment.

He is a community activist and aspires to own his personal law firm. He believes that his purpose is to lead people in the right direction. He is now working with other YMP students to plan a youth crime summit.
